DEMONSTRATION DAY
Demonstration Day is here. Are you ready? When: April 7, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the Stanford School. We are finalizing the schedule the first week of April. If you have any special considerations, requirements or time frames you need please let us know ASAP. In the event you haven’t turned your registration in please do so.
Registration deadline is March 29, 2019. You may send registrations thru the mail, email or bring them to the JBC Extension Office.
MULTI-COUNTY 4-H CAMP
Are you ready for ‘Diggin’ Up Some Fun!’. It’s time to start preparing for 4-H Camp at Camp Rotary, near Monarch. MT. The camp includes members from Broadwater, Judith Basin, Meagher, Musselshell-Golden Valley and Wheatland Counties. There will be lots of fun and a chance to meet new and reconnect with old friends. Camp dates are from June 4-7, 2019. We have the registration form and medical release form in the following pages of this newsletter. Cost is $75 per member. Counselors need to register and pay too!
Please return your form, fee and medical release to the Judith Basin County Extension Office by Friday, May 10, 2019.
FAIR BOOK ADS
If you haven’t turned in your Fair Book ads to the JBC Extension Office please do so ASAP. We still have several ads out to members.
ANIMAL WEIGH-IN
Swine weigh-in deadline is April 15, 2019. If you haven’t received your tags talk with your leaders. Sheep and goat weigh-in deadline is May 15, 2019.
EASTER EGG HUNT
It’s time for the Stanford Scramblers to find some eggs. What shall we do with them afterward? Enjoy! The hunt will begin at 10:30 am on Tuesday April 16, 2019 at the Stanford School. Bring your basket, smiling faces and enthusiasm for a fun filled time.
AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM
What is a buffalo jump? Have you seen one? Come join us at the Stanford School. Our guest speaker will be coming from the First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park. Allison will have answers to many questions about this state park on April 23, 2019. All students K-6 are welcome to attend. Please call the office if you have any questions! The program takes place from 4:00 pm till 5:30 pm. Parents will need to make arrangements to pick up children from the Stanford School. The next Afterschool program date is TBD. We will let you know when the date has been confirmed.
4-H ANIMAL SALES
Have you started thinking about where to purchase your pigs and lambs from this year? Sale event info is starting to come in to our office. We will be compiling all the sale info that comes in. CLOVERBUD CAMP 2019
Have you started thinking about camp yet? Applications and online registrations are opening up. 4-H Cloverbud camp at Loon Lake is now open.
Camp will be June 7-9, 2019. Cost is $120 for one youth and one adult, $50 for each additional youth or adult. Registration due June 1, 2019.
IPYA (formerly IFYE) HOSTING
Montana International 4-H Youth Exchange (IPYA) delegates need hosts from July 12,
2019 (end of Congress) for about 2-3 weeks at a time. These young adults from European
countries want a better understanding of Montana farm and ranch practices, although
families do not need to live on a farm or ranch to host. There are 13 young adults
from eight
countries coming to Montana, with stays ranging from five weeks to three months. Contact

ACADEMIC YEAR PROGRAMS (AYP)
Host families needed for high school students from Japan, South Korea or Eurasia (FLEX program). Students are here from August 2019 through May/ June 2020. Contact [email protected] for more information. All of these program are volunteer and families are not reimbursed for hosting. Expenses should be limited to the extra cost of food and utilities related to having another person in your home.
4-H HORSE PROJECT
Monday nights beginning June 3rd running through Monday July 1st 6-9 pm, Ranch Horse Practice at Erickson Arena.
The focus will be Horsemanship, Cattle Work, and Roping in preparation for the summer Ranch Horse Competitions. Must be enrolled in the Ranch Horse Project.
Sunday May 26 and Monday May 27, JUSTIN WARNEKE Horsemanship/Cattle Work Clinic at Erickson Arena.
Justin is a phenomenal horseman and teacher and has been our 4-H Working Ranch Horse Finals Judge for the past two years. This is a great opportunity for our youngsters. One day will be Beginner/Intermediate and one day Intermediate/Advanced. Each 4-Her will only ride one day.
$30 per 4-Her and limited to 10 kids per day. Please contact Erlonna at 366-3273 to sign your child up.
Friday June 14--Fair Pattern, Showmanship, and Trail Clinic.
This will be a clinic taught by our upper level 4-H Horsemanship youth to help the
younger members learn how to prepare for county fair, work on horsemanship patterns
for fair, showmanship, and
the fair trail pattern.
4-H DOG PROJECT
Dog Project Kids----Keep working with your dogs on Showmanship and Obedience and work
on your project book! There will be a couple more Dog Clinics in June and we will
have a practice Dog Show to help get ready for fair. For more

The clinic is for youth ages 8-18 enrolled in 4-H horse projects. Participants must wear helmet during clinic.
Note: There will be a vendor show and tack swap from 12-3 on Saturday. If you have items you would like to offer in tack swap please bring to check in on Saturday morning (label and price your items).
Stalling is availabvle: $15 per night. Please provide your own hay and buckets for water.
Fee: Nonrefundable fee of $35 for 2 days / $25 Saturday only / $10 for Friday only
