ADD/DROP 4-H PROJECTS

June 1, 2019 is the deadline for adding or dropping 4-H Projects for the 2018-2019 4-H year. You may do this through the 4HOnline website.

SCRAMBLERS

The Stanford Scramblers will be helping the Women’s club remove flowers from the cemetery June 3, 2019 at 11:00am. Lunch will be provided. Club meeting will take place at 6:30.

SPRING JUDGING DATE CHANGE

Be sure to update your calendars!! The new date is Sunday, June 2, 2019. The Spring Judging will take place at the Geyser stockyards at 11:00 am. This is a potluck, bring lots of good food, an appetite and laughter. There will also be prizes, so come and join us!

JB COUNTY FAIR REGISTRATION

Fair time is quickly approaching! We are using www.fairentry.com Each member and a parent are required to work
the food booth for one shift per fair. Parents if you are unable to cover your shift it is your responsibility to find an adult to cover for you. If you are not familiar with the FairEntry program please contact the JB County Extension Office for assistance. Deadline for sign-up is July 1, 2019. Late registration ends July 5th. All late entries must be made in the office and will include a $5 late fee.

HORSE ID & HELMET RELEASE FORM

If you haven’t turned in you Horse ID and Helmet Release forms you are running out of time. Deadline to have them in is June 1, 2019. Turn them in to the JBC Extension Office or Erlonna ASAP! You may email or fax them to the office. Fax: 406-566-2211, Email: [email protected] or [email protected]

NILE MERIT HEIFER PROGRAM

The purpose of the project is to help youth get a start in the beef cattle business by awarding heifer calves to project participants chosen on the basis of merit, future goals and ability to care for the animal. Any youth that is between the ages of twelve (12) and sixteen (16) years of age as of JUNE 30, of the given year and a 4-H or FFA member may enter. Entries are not limited to Montana. Entries will be made in the form of an application, (think of this as applying for a
live animal scholarship) with a deadline of JUNE 30, 2019. Project participants will be selected by October and will be recognized at the NILE Stock Show in October. For an application and detail go to:

JBC FAIR HELPERS

While at the fair this year check in with Katie to see if there is anything you may help her with. This is a very busy time. There is always and errand, message or other small job that makes everything run smoother. Together we can accomplish much and make sure to have fun too. All of your help is very appreciated and much needed. Thanks and have a great Fair!

4-H DOG PROJECT

Dog clinics will be held at Erickson’s: 870 Judith River Road, Hobson with Jessica Horan. Wednesday June 12th and Wednesday July 3rd from 6-8pm. Bring your dog, treats, showmanship leash, choker chain and a great attitude. We’ll focus on getting ready for fair practicing showmanship, agility and obedience. CMF has a great Dog Show—remember to enter by June 1, 2019. Questions contact Erlonna at 406-366-3273.

4-H HORSE PROJECT DATE CHANGES

Monday nights June 3rd, 10th, July 1st, 15th.

6-9 pm will be Ranch Horse Practice at Erickson’s Arena. The focus will be Horsemanship, Cattle Work and Roping in preparation for the summer Ranch Horse Competitions. Must be enrolled in the Ranch Horse Project.

Monday June 17

Fair Pattern, Showmanship, and Trail Clinic, 9am-4pm. This will be a clinic taught by our upper level 4-H Horsemanship youth to help the younger members learn how to prepare for county fair, work on horsemanship patterns for fair, showmanship and the fair trail pattern. Please contact Erlonna at 366-3273 to sign your child up.
